She was born July 14, 1897, in Utrect, Holland to Albert and Nellie DeJong Griffioen. She was a member of the Plymouth Congregational Church. She married George F. Miers on Feb. 7, 1917, in Ottumwa. He died in 1965. She is survived by a son, Ancill Miers of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; a grandson; several step-grandchildren; and a sister, Winnie Ostrander of Ottumwa.
