She grew up in the Brighton area on the family farm and attended school in Brighton. She married John Casper Mollendor Nov. 26, 1940. They spent a few years in Denver and in 1946 moved back to the Brighton area to begin a farming operation that lasted a lifetime. Read More	Mary Margaret (Case) Mollendor Spohn ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Mary Spohn, 90, was born Nov. 3, 1920 in Brighton, the third child of John Sr. and Katherine (Schwartz) Case. She died Feb. 6, 2011. She grew up in the Brighton area on the family farm and attended school in Brighton. She married John Casper Mollendor Nov. 26, 1940. They spent a few years in Denver and in 1946 moved back to the Brighton area to begin a farming operation that lasted a lifetime. Being an ancestor of "Germans From Russia," she had a strong work ethic instilled by her parents. Mary also had a deep appreciation, understanding and love of the land she and John farmed. In 1959, she and John had the opportunity to move the farming operation to the LaSalle-Keenesburg area, and in 1971 they moved the operation to Lamar, Neb., where it is located today. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 47 years, John, who died in 1987; her second husband, Fred Spohn, who died in 2001; brothers, Peter Case, Jacob Case and John Case Jr.; sisters, Katherine Fox and Helen Sigwardt; and granddaughter, Jana Marie Mollendor. Mary is survived by her sons, John Robert Mollendor and wife Linda of Lamar, Neb. and Richard Allen Mollendor and wife Nancy of Greeley; grandchildren, Kathleen Dodds and husband Mark of Hampstead, N.C., Johnna Peters and husband Robert of Denver, David Mollendor and wife Liz of Lamar, Neb., Jennifer Owens and husband David of Greeley and Mark Mollendor and wife Catherine of Lone Tree; eight great-grandchildren; special friend, Lois Carruthers; sisters, Rose Unrein and husband Robert of Brighton and Elizabeth Wethington and husband William of Bedford, Texas; brothers, Lawrence Case and wife Maureen, Leonard Case and wife Luanne and Joseph Case and wife Marilyn, all of Brighton; sisters-in-law, Elsie Hoffman of Loveland and Patricia Case of Brighton; brother-in-law, Leroy Sigwardt of Greeley; and many loving nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Friday, Feb. 11 from 10 a.m.-7 p.m. at Baucke Funeral Home, 1220 SW Interocean Dr. in Holyoke. Rosary will be recited at 10:15 a.m. and Mass will be at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Holyoke Saturday, Feb 12. Interment will immediately follow Mass at Holyoke Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Patrick's Altar and Rosary Society. Baucke Funeral Home in Holyoke has been entrusted with the arrangements.
