Fred was the son of Edward and Mary (Mayer) Spohn. He was born on October 18, 1915, in Phillips County, where he grew to manhood. Read More	Holyoke Enterprise, Holyoke, Colorado, 1 Mar 2001 Fredrick Edward "Fred" Spohn, 85, of Lamar, Nebraska (formerly of Holyoke), passed away February 19, 2001 at the Chase County Community Hospital in Imperial, Nebraska. Fred was the son of Edward and Mary (Mayer) Spohn. He was born on October 18, 1915, in Phillips County, where he grew to manhood. He was united in marriage to Philomena "Minnie" Schrage on April 18, 1940, in Dodge, Nebraska. She preceded him in death on October 27, 1990. To this union three children were born - Donna, Robert and William. Fred and Minnie were engaged in farming in Phillips County until 1947 when they moved into Holyoke. Fred was employed by Butane-Propane Service for about 20 years. He was then employed by Phillips County as foreman in the road department until he retired. Fred married Mary (Case) Mollendor on November 23, 1991, in Holyoke and until the time of his passing they resided near Lamar, Nebraska. Fred was a member of the St. Patrick Catholic Church in Holyoke where he was a charter member of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed fishing and taking care of his yard and garden. One of his greatest accomplishments was aiding in the construction of St. Patrick Catholic Church. Fred is preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Minnie; brother Lawrence; two sisters, Alma Holoway and Clara Vernon; daughter-in-law Linda Spohn; grandson Thomas Lutze; and granddaughter Christina Lutze-Bishop. He is survived by wife Mary of Lamar, Nebraska; children Donna Lutze and her husband Leroy of Holyoke, Robert Spohn and his wife Mary Jo of High Point, North Carolina and William Spohn and his companion Helen Miller of Holyoke; stepsons Bob Mollendor and his wife Linda of Lamar, Nebraska and Richard Mollandor and his wife Nancy of Greeley; six grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. A rosary service was held on Wednesday, February 21 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Holyoke. The funeral mass was held Thursday, February 22 at St. Patrick Catholic Church with Rev. Dan Zimmerschied officiating. Interment was in Holyoke Memorial Park.
