''''''''''''''''''''''''''''' The Ulysses Dispatch, September 20, 1899, p. 3, col. 3 Obituary Mrs. Patrick Coyle, aged 61 yrs., 5 mos. and 12 days, died of dropsy at her home four miles south-west of Ulysses on Tuesday night, Sept. 12, 1899. Mary McCoy was born in Liverpool, England, March 30, 1838. In 1845 she came to the United States with her parents, who settled in Genesee Co., N. Y. In 1855 she moved to Iowa where she lived until 1870, when she came to Ulysses. She was married to Patrick Coyle in 1857. Eight children were born to them, three of whom have preceded her to her eternal home. Deceased had been ailing for about a year, but during the past three months her sufferings became more intense, yet she bore all patiently and without a murmur. All that could be done for her by loving hands and medical skill proved of no avail, and when He, who does all for the best, whispered to her that all her earthly cares were ended, she passed quietly away from earth and all its troubles to that home of fairest sunshine, where all is peace and joy, and where parting will be no more. She leaves to mourn her loss an aged husband, and five children, viz: Mrs. Kate Cox of Omaha, Mrs. Maggie Considine of Sheridan, Wyoming, Mrs. Nellie Simpson of Phoenix, Arizona, Mr. F. E. Coyle of Iowa Falls, Iowa, and Mr. W. J. Coyle of Ulysses. She was a faithful wife and kind mother and will be sadly missed in the home circle. She leaves a host of friends who extend to the bereaved husband and children their kindest sympathy. The funeral services were conducted on Thursday, Sep, 14 at the Ulysses Catholic church, by Rev. Father Murphy, after which the remains were laid to rest in the Catholic cemetery.
