McKinstry, of Charter Oak - Dies at Ute Word was received here on Monday morning that Mrs. M. J. McKinstry had died at the home of her daughter in Ute early Monday Morning. Mrs. McKinstry has been suffering from cancer of the stomach for a long time and her death was hourly expected for several weeks. She has lived in Charter Oak many years, coming here with her husband and children when the town was comparatively new. They lived here several years then moved to Ute, where Mr. McKinstry had business interests. They remained there until after his death, when Mrs. McKinstry and one daughter moved back to Charter Oak and have since made their home here. Several months ago she was taken to Chicago to consult a physician in regard to her health. Nothing could be done for her and she went to Ute to be near her children until death should relieve her. She leaves to mourn her death, besides a host of friends, four daughters, Mrs. Shanahan, of Ute; Mrs. Clark, of Ticonic; Mrs. Hildreth, of Rodney, and Angela, who lived with her mother. The funeral was held from the Catholic church here Wednesday morning and the body laid to rest by the side of her husband. Dennison Bulletin Wednesday, 06 Aug 1915, Page 6 Column 2 Word has been received that Mrs. Mary McKinstry of this place died Sunday night at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Margaret Shanahan, at Ute, Ia. Death came after a long and painful illness. She had been in poor health for a long time and went to Chicago two months ago and submitted to an operation, but her health was not benefited by it. She leaves to mourn her loss four daughters and five grandchildren. The entire community extend their sympathy in their bereavement.
