She was born Dec. 22, 1926 in Lima to Raymond and Blanch (Protsman) Diehl who preceded her in death. She was married to Richard Winters Smith I, who also preceded her in death. Surviving are her son, Mark Smith of Elida; daughter-in-law, Donna Smith of Columbus; granddaughters, Taylor (Scott) McGillivray and Allie (Adam) Lantis; great-grandchildren, Roean, Selah, Leven, Fenit and Aiden, and several nieces and nephews. She was born Dec. 22, 1926 in Lima to Raymond and Blanch (Protsman) Diehl who preceded her in death. She was married to Richard Winters Smith I, who also preceded her in death. Surviving are her son, Mark Smith of Elida; daughter-in-law, Donna Smith of Columbus; granddaughters, Taylor (Scott) McGillivray and Allie (Adam) Lantis; great-grandchildren, Roean, Selah, Leven, Fenit and Aiden, and several nieces and nephews. Her son, Richard Winters Smith, II and her siblings, Lila Hopper, Raymond Diehl, Bill Diehl, John Diehl, twins Dean Diehl and Jean Darnell and Protsman Diehl preceded her in death. Mrs. Smith taught school at Jefferson before transferring to Lima Senior and then retiring. She enjoyed reading and working in her beautiful flower gardens. Services will begin at 1:00 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16, 2018 at Bluelick Cemetery, where burial will immediately follow.
