Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 17, at St. John's United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Mark Altman officiating. Burial will be in Norway Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ed Phillips, Robert Phillips, Tommy Williamson, Charles Bair, Bracky Williams and Danny Covington. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 17, at St. John's United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Mark Altman officiating. Burial will be in Norway Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ed Phillips, Robert Phillips, Tommy Williamson, Charles Bair, Bracky Williams and Danny Covington. Mrs. Williamson was born June 20, 1918, in Springfield, a daughter of the late Walton Hartzog Phillips and Mary Odom Phillips. She was a graduate of Winthrop College. She was an active member of St. John's United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School for 31 years. Mrs. Williamson was a member of St. John's United Methodist Women, a former member of the Eastern Star, and a charter member of the Norway Matrons Club. She taught in the Norway Schools for 33 years prior to retirement in 1977. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Oscar Miller Williamson Jr.; a sister, Irma Dean Rutland; and two brothers, Norwood H. Phillips and A. Glen Phillips. Survivors include a son, Dr. Donald Allen (Stephanie) Williamson of Baton Rouge, La.; a daughter, Mary Beth (John) Brown of Norway; a brother, Robert I. "Tigue" Phillips of Greenwood; and two grandchildren, John Michael Brown and Mary Alyson Brown of Norway. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 16, at Dukes-Harley Funeral Home. At other times friends may call at the residence of Mrs. and Mrs. John Brown, 759 Osprey Road, Norway, and the funeral home. Memorials may be made to St. John's United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 367, Norway, SC 29113 or to a charity of one's choice.
