Arrowood. Read More	The Sun October 27, 1927 Memoriam On Sunday morning, October the second, the community of Shingle Hollow was saddened by the death of a well and truly beloved member, Mrs. D. M. Arrowood. Though the end of her long life was not unexpected, for she was four score and seven years when she fell into that sweet sleep from which there is no awakening on this earth, the news of her passing was nevertheless a shock and for many, many years to come she will be mourned by all who knew her, and knowing, loved her. The late Mrs. Arrowood was buried in the Antioch Methodist cemetery and her grave will ever be a hallowed place to her descendants, who are many as she lived to see the fifth generation. Married first to a Confederate soldier who lost his life in the war, Alfred Hall, when she was but fifteen years of age, two children were born of the union, the late Walker Hall, and Mrs. H. C. Rhodes, of Montford Cove. It is in this branch of the family there is a great-great-grandchild. Later Mrs. Hall married D. M. Arrowood, who survives her as do the following children: B. C. Arrowood, D. M. Arrowood Jr., Mrs. Annie Hill, Mrs. Lillie Hill, all of Shingle Hollow; Mrs. Frances Helms, Marion; Mrs. Lind Hill, Cliffside, and Mrs. Nettie Frady, Montford Cove. There are also many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who are descendants of D. M. Arrowood and his wife the late Polly Arrowood.
