Funeral services were held at 10:30 Tuesday morning, June 23, 1981 at Ohde Funeral Home in Coon Rapids. The Rev. Alfred E. Rau officiated and Miss Lula Garnes was organist. Coon Rapids Enterprise June 25, 1981 Page 7 Mary Roberta, daughter of Frank and Nettie Laughery Bauer, was born November 3, 1908, at Coon Rapids, Iowa. She attended the Coon Rapids schools. Mary was a telephone operator for the Coon Rapids telephone systems for over 20 years. In the late 1950's she was united in marriage with Harold Nielson. She was bookkeeper for her husbands hog buying station for many years. They made their home near Coon Rapids, retiring last year. She was a member of the United Methodist Church. Mary had been in failing health for several years and died at St. Anthony Hospital in Carroll, Iowa, on Saturday, June 20, 1981, at the age of 72 years, 7 months and 17 days. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Beryl; and one son, Keith Farnham. Surviving are her husband, Harold of Coon Rapids; a son, Richard Farnham, Coon Rapids; grandchildren; great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Helen Bell, Coon Rapids; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
