Description	:	Mary Rosalie Mortimer, daughter of James and Catherine Mortimer, was born in Boone Township April 1, 1869, and passed away in Council Bluffs, Iowa, November 15, 1947 at the age of 78 years, seven months and fourteen days. In early girlhood she united with the Methodist church at Maple Grove of which she was one of the charter members. Throughout her entire lifetime she was active in all the activities of the church. Read More	Mary Rosalie Mortimer, daughter of James and Catherine Mortimer, was born in Boone Township April 1, 1869, and passed away in Council Bluffs, Iowa, November 15, 1947 at the age of 78 years, seven months and fourteen days. In early girlhood she united with the Methodist church at Maple Grove of which she was one of the charter members. Throughout her entire lifetime she was active in all the activities of the church. On May 2nd, 1900 she was united in marriage with Chas. Thurstion Finchem. Into their home were born three children, Paul of Detroit, Mich.; Mrs. T. J. Rogers of Imogene, Iowa and Merrill of Waukee. Those who will miss her are her children; one brother, Clifford Mortimer of Dundee, Ill.; one sister, Mrs. Myrtle Fidler of Marion, Indiana; four grandsons, three granddaughters; a number of other relatives and sincere friends beyond number. Funeral services were held at the Waukee Methodist church in Waukee on Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 P.M. conducted by her pastor Rev. Donald Bissinger. Music was rendered by Mr. and Mrs. Ray Wilson, accompanied by Lawrence Cook at the organ. Casket bearers were Frank Huston, William Smith, Irvin Robinson, Dr. Cramer, Gordon Jamison and F. N. Forret. Burial was in the Waukee cemetery beside her husband. She was a kind and loving mother and will be greatly missed in the home and community in which she spent her entire life. The large gathering of relatives, friends and neighbors at the funeral and the beautiful floral offerings gave evidence of the esteem which she held in the community.
