Rev. Paul J. Johnson conducted the servcies. Burial was in Hillside Cemetery at 9:45 Thursday morning. Pallbearers were Virgil Haggstrom, Jacob Hansen, Charles Hiatt, Asa Watts and Ed Allen. Wilson also sang "The Lord's Prayer" accompanied by Miss Kathleen Wilson. Mary Scerona Squires was born March 15, 1874 at Elcon, North Carolina to William and Mary Ann Cook. She passed away July 22, 1951 at the age of 77 years, 4 months and 7 days. Mary Scerona Squires was baptized in the Baptist Church as a young girl. She came to Wolbach with her parents, in April of 1901. She was married to Ben Squires, of Ohio, in March, 1903 at Wolbach. To this union was born one daughter, Pearl Lorraine (Sohm). Scerona has lived in the neighborhood of Wolbach and St. Paul for fifty years. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and daughter, also four sisters and one brother. She leaves to mourn her passing three grandchildren, Mrs. Kathryn Maly of Earlville, Illinois, Curly Sohm Also of Earlville and Bob Sohm of Oxnard, California; three great-grandchildren; one sister Cora Lught of St. Paul, Nebraska; three brothers, William and Tom Cook, both of Grand Island and Joe Cook of Los Angeles, California, several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
