Mary Beshoar, one of the best known and highly esteemed ladies of the county, died at an early hour on Thursday morn- ning of last week at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Levi Barnes, in Idaville. The maiden name of the de- ceased was Mary Smith. She was born in Union county, Penn., in January, 1831, being in her 75th year at the time of her death. Mary Beshoar, one of the best known and highly esteemed ladies of the county, died at an early hour on Thursday morn- ning of last week at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Levi Barnes, in Idaville. The maiden name of the de- ceased was Mary Smith. She was born in Union county, Penn., in January, 1831, being in her 75th year at the time of her death. She was married in Dec., 1849, and came with her hus- band to White county in 1865, settling on a farm one and one half miles north of Monticello. Mr. Beshoar died that year. Five years later Mrs. Beshoar removed with her family to Bur- nettsville and remained a res- ident of that town until her death. More than half a century ago this good soul joined the Breth- ren church and ever remained a devoted member. Her gentle and unassuming ways and her kindly words won many warm friends. She will be greatly missed. The following children survive: Mrs. Alice Barnes, of Idaville; William and Hiram Beshoar, of Burnettsville; James Beshoar, of Logansport, and Daniel Beshoar, at Monticello. The funeral ser- vices were conducted at the Bur- nettsville Brethren church on Saturday afternoon by Elder Heeter. Interment in the Bur- nettsville cemetery. Idaville Observer October 20, 1905
