Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the St. Edward Catholic church with the Rev. James Brady officiating. Burial will be made in the parish cemetery. The body will lie in state at the family home at St. Edward from 1 p.m. Sunday until the hour of the services. Rosary will be prayed there at 8 p.m. Sunday. Mrs. Kiernan, the former Mary Steinbach, was born at Clinton, Ia., on April 24, 1871. She was the daughter of Theodore and Gertrude Stoeffels Steinbach. Her marriage to Frank Kiernan took place at the Albion Catholic church on April 25, 1892 and they made their home at St. Edward. Mr. Kiernan preceded her in death. From 1919 to 1946 she lived in Columbus, then returned to St. Edward where she had since resided. She was a member of the Altar Society of the St. Edward Catholic church. Survivors are: six children, Mrs. Kathryn Flaherty, Jim and Agnes Kiernan of St. Edward, Mrs. Gertrude Warren of Grandview, Mo.; Clarence and Cecilia Kiernan of Columbus; one brother, Theodore Steinbach of St. Edward; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, son, George, and her parents.
