Description	:	Mary “Susan” Dowding was born April 30, 1946 in Denver, Colorado at home to Theta Ruth White and Robert P. White She passed away, Friday, September 25, 2015 at her home located in Chariton, Iowa. Mary attended Oxford High School in the state of Nebraska. She was united in marriage on January 26,1964 to Darrel John Dowding and to this union, two sons, Loren Troy (1972) then Adopt Jeffery I. Dowding (1979) . Read More	Mary “Susan” Dowding was born April 30, 1946 in Denver, Colorado at home to Theta Ruth White and Robert P. White She passed away, Friday, September 25, 2015 at her home located in Chariton, Iowa. Mary attended Oxford High School in the state of Nebraska. She was united in marriage on January 26,1964 to Darrel John Dowding and to this union, two sons, Loren Troy (1972) then Adopt Jeffery I. Dowding (1979) . Mary and her family primarily lived in the Ottumwa area before moving to Chariton. In Mary’s spare time she enjoyed walks with her dog, reading her bible and listen to gospel music . She could be described at times somewhat of an ornery jokester and loved the phrase “Here’s your sign” . Her son Jeff admired her sense of humor joking about her own age saying often she “she is so old she rode dinosaurs to school ”and “she is older than dirt”. Her family knew better than to make her really mad, but would often as a joke argue with her if she were 5’ 1” or 5’. Mary’s family will remember her as a mighty woman, mother and grandmother to be dearly missed. Mary was preceded in death by her husband Darrel Dowding (1988) , son Loren Troy (1979) , sisters; Amy German and Theresa Mayers; and brother-in-law Wayne German. Those left to honor Mary’s memory are her son Jeffery Dowding, daughter-in-law Kimberly D. Dowding and grandchildren Alexis and Hunter Dowding. As were her wishes her body was cremated with no services at this time. Cremation services were in the care of Fielding Funeral Home. Memorials may be directed to family. ----------------------------------------- NOTE: Some spellings of names were noticed in linking this family. Her son, Loren Tory is the way his name is on the cemetery stone (not Loren Troy as this obit says), and husband Darrel is spelled Darral on his cemetery stone. Clc
