Amy was very well educated, after high school she attended college and was always interested in learning. She studied music and had a great love for gospel music. Read More	Amy Ann German, daughter of Robert Peter White and Theta Ruth (Mullen) White was born January 12, 1941 in Oxford, Nebraska and passed from this life Friday, January 23, 2009 in Kansas City, Missouri at 68 years of age. Amy was very well educated, after high school she attended college and was always interested in learning. She studied music and had a great love for gospel music. She was united in marriage to Wayne German on November 14, 1964 at Creston, Iowa. Amy's love for music was a great part of her life. She served on the jury for the Music Conservatory at Marshalltown Community College in Marshalltown, Iowa. She was very active in their activities. She loved to sing and had the ability to hear a song once and be able to repeat it perfectly. She had an opportunity to travel to Nashville, Tennessee to have the Gospel Song, "How Great Thou Art" recorded professionally at the Graceland Music Recording Studio. Amy was known as the "hat lady" in Osceola. Her collection of hats was 110. She would give presentation to groups in the area, dressing up in clothing dating to the period of the hat and showing her collection. Her favorite portrayal was of May West. Amy was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star; Daughters of the American Revolution; several women's clubs in Iowa and Nebraska. She was Baptized at a young age in the Baptist Church, in Oxford, Nebraska, and attended the Baptist Church throughout her life in the various communities in which she resided. Amy's parents and brother-in-law Darrell Dowding, preceded her in death. She leaves to cherish her memory husband, Wayne German of Osceola; Step-daughter, Debra Hobbs and husband John of Marion, Iowa; Step-daughter, Denise Rhode of Mitchellville, Iowa; step-grandchildren, R.J. Hobbs, Jordan, Brett and Justin Rhode; Brother, John White and wife Barbara Seagoville, Texas; Brother, Harlan White of Lincoln, Nebraska; Sister, Teresa Myers and husband Ronald of Sidney, Nebraska; Sister, Tara Butler and husband Lynn of Phoenix, Arizona; Sister, Mary Susan Dowding of Ottumwa, Iowa; other relatives and friends.
