Description	:	Mrs. Mary Virginia Roby, wife of D.C. Roby of South Salem township died at the family home Tuesday morning, October 9, 1906 from a complication of disease. Funeral services, conducted by Rev. C.B. Wells were held at the home Wednesday afternoon and interment made in Greenwood Cemetery. Wells were held at the home Wednesday afternoon and interment made in Greenwood Cemetery. Mary Virginia Lynn was born in Belmont County, Ohio January 16, 1851. She was married to DeWitt C. Roby November 3, 1870. They came to Kansas in 1879 settling on the farm in South Salem township which has since been their home. To this union were born five children all of whom together with the grief stricken husband are left to mourn her departure. Mrs. Roby was a noble Christian woman, ever ready by word or deed to help those needing assistance. She was a leader in the church work of the community and took an active part in all good enterprises. The sympathy of everyone is extended to the sorrowing family.
