Interment was in the St. Ann's Catholic Cemetery, Fillmore. She died on Feb. 3, 2002 at the Heart of America Medical Center in Rugby. Fr. Andrew Dudzinski was celebrant. Organist was Glenda Mack and Galen Mack was vocal leader. Casket bearers were Tony Goetz, Richard Ewert, Chad Simonson and Todd, Scott and Derold Thompson. Mary Voeller was born to Joseph and Barbara Salwei Voeller on Feb. 15, 1914 near Fulda. She was raised there and attended country school. She worked on her parents' farm until her marriage to Pete Goetz on Oct. 21, 1935 at St. Anselm's Catholic Church in Fulda. The couple made their home on a farm southwest of Rugby and later moved to a farmstead three mile west of Fillmore. After farming they moved into Fillmore, where they owned and operated the Fillmore Bar for 42 years. In 1997 they became residents at Eastside Apartments in Rugby. She was a former member of St. Anselm's Catholic Church in Fulda, Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Balta and St. Ann's Catholic Church in Fillmore and their Christian Mothers. She was a member of Little Flower Catholic Church in Rugby and its Christian Mothers. She enjoyed gardening and playing cards. Survivors include her husband; two daughters and a son-in-law, Lorraine Thompson of Fillmore and Iris and Derold Simonson of Esmond; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Barbara Grismer and Margaret Klienert; three brothers, Fred, August and Anton Voeller; and her parents.
