Baldwin JP Mary Wade's petition and allowance for year's provisions State of North Carolina Court of Pleas and Quarter Richmond County, October Term A.D. 1863 To the worshipful court now sitting. The petition of Mary Wade, widow and relick of Edwin Wade, deceased, respectfully showeth unto your worships that her said husband departed this life about 1863 having first made and published his last will and testament that saids last will and testament was duly admitted to probate at the last term of this court and that at the present term of this Court she has come into open court within the due time prescribed by law and in her own proper person has discented from said last will and testament. Your petitioner further sheweth unto your worships that letters of Administrations cause testaments unto annex during absentia, on the estaate of her said husband have been granted to Alfred Baldwin during the present term. Your petitioner further sheweth that she desires to have her years support for herself and family out of the estate of her said husband alloted to her according to law, and to that ends she prays your worships to appoint one Justice of the Peace and three freeholders unconnected with her to view said estate and out of the crop,stock,and provisions belonging thereto, to allot and set apart to her so much there of, as may be adequate to the support of herself and family for one year, and if there shall not be sufficiency on hands to affords such allowance to as like the deficiency in money to be paid to her by the administrator, and report their proceedings under their hands and seals to the next term of the Court and your petitioner as in duty bound will was pray. signed John W.
