Read More	per her obit and death Certificate - Mrs. Mary Osweiler was born in Prussia, Germany, June 4, 1827 - (Stone says June 9, 1829) ________________ Daughter of Mathias Wallerich and Maria Riplinger, both from Germany. _______________________________ Mrs. Mary Osweiler was born in Prussia, Germany, June 4, 1827 and departed this life Wednesday, Sept. 5, 1923, at the home of her son, Mike, at the advanced age of 96 years and 3 months. In the year 1860, she with her husband, Michael Osweiler, and two eldest children, Math and Margaret, emigrated to this country, landing in Keokuk County on the first day of May, and settled on a farm south of Harper, Iowa where she had resided continuously since. Her husband preceded her in death 32 years. Surviving her are 4 children, Math and Mike, of near Harper, Mrs. Margaret Namur and Mrs. Mary Schneider, of Iowa City, Iowa. Two sons died in infancy. She also leaves 19 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter and Paul's church, Clear Creek, with the Rev. Philip Hartman in charge. Interment in the Parish Cemetery nearby. The pall bearers were six of the grandsons. Keokuk County News - September 13, 1923
