Dittmer, 98, of Clarks died October 5, 1995, at Midwest Convenant Home in Stromsburg. Services were October 7 at the United Methodist Church in Clarks with the Rev. LaQuita McKibben officiating. Burial was in the Clarks Cemetery. Mrs. Dittmer was born on July 31, 1897, in Genoa to John and Catharine (Stuck) Hansen. She attended a rural Nance County school. She married Otto Dittmer on July 31, 1919, in Fullerton. They farmed four miles east of Clarks, where they also raised livestock. They moved into their home in Clarks in 1963. Mr. Dittmer died in 1967. She continued to live in Clarks until 1992 when she moved to Midwest Covenant Home. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Clarks, the Sunny Side Club, the Lions Club, and was instrumental in starting the Senior Center in Clarks and served as president. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, gardening and flowers. Survivors include two sons, Ted Dittmer and Jack Dittmer, both of Clarks; four daughters, Lillie (Mrs. Rex) Graham of Silver Creek, Ruth (Mrs. Wes) Jones of Osceola, Betty (Mrs. Bill) Wyman of Clarks and Dixie (Mrs. Dennis) Jasper of Stromsburg; 25 grandchildren; 70 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Robert C. Dittmer; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one great-great-grandchild; two brothers and six sisters.
