Maryalice was born to James and Lily (Myers) Moncur in 1930 in Miller, South Dakota. Maryalice was born to James and Lily (Myers) Moncur in 1930 in Miller, South Dakota. She was educated in South Dakota at Miller High School and went on to receive her B.S degree from S.D.S.U. in Brookings, SD. She taught in South Dakota (Ipswich/Milbank). Maryalice married Emil E. Bentley on June 4, 1954, after meeting at SDSU, and started their family in Chicago, IL. Maryalice is survived by her four children; Robin Bentley, Susan Bentley Krauser, Dennis Bentley, Penny Bentley, grandsons Keith Bentley and his wife Amanda (Dennis's son), Eric Krauser (Sue's son), her only great grandchild, Addyson (Keith Bentley's daughter) and many loving cousins, nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her brother Wayne Moncur (Margaret) and was preceded in death by brothers Roger Moncur (Arlene) and Merle "Bud" Moncur (Violet). Maryalice enjoyed close relationships with all three of her sister-in-laws until her passing. When all of her children were in school, Maryalice returned to teaching Home Economics at Kelvyn Park High School in Chicago in 1966. She took a one year leave of absence, after being widowed, in 1981, to earn her Master's Degree, from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln and then returned to Kelvyn Park to continue teaching until 1988. A few years before retirement, Maryalice moved to Park Ridge, IL but continued to substitute teach in Maine Township High Schools (East & South) until 2000. She later moved to Mesa, AZ in 2005. Maryalice loved to travel, paint, sew, watch movies, enjoy good food and musical theater, was very involved with her church, Velda Rose United Methodist Church and especially loved to spend time with her dear friends at Las Alegres. She was always willing to help out and learn new things. Maryalice was one of a kind and will be dearly missed by all that were fortunate enough to have known and loved her. A memorial service was held at Velda Rose United Methodist Church on Friday, August 7th at 10a.m. Maryalice's cremains will be joined with her late husband, Emil, at The Black Hills National Cemetery in Sturgis, SD. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ John Osnes # 50879525 provided plot information. ~ 3-18-2022
