Description	:	The Phonograph, Thursday, February 27th, 1919 Mrs. Mary Sack, the aged mother of the Sack boys, passed away Monday forenoon at the home of her son, Joseph, after an illness of about two months. Mary Gojney [sic] was born in Poland on February 16th, 1830, being at the time of her death, 89 years and 8 days old. Read More	The Phonograph, Thursday, February 27th, 1919 Mrs. Mary Sack, the aged mother of the Sack boys, passed away Monday forenoon at the home of her son, Joseph, after an illness of about two months. Mary Gojney [sic] was born in Poland on February 16th, 1830, being at the time of her death, 89 years and 8 days old. A good ripe old age and during the time the spent in this world her work was well done and much good accomplished. In the early sixties, the date being unattainable, she was married to Christian Sack. To this union was born nine children, six boys and three girls. Seven of the children survive the mother, Mrs. Rudolph Smolczyk, and Miss Genevieve, who is at home; Joseph and August, who are also at home and Frank, who resides on the old home place southwest of this city; and John and Abel of Haley, South Dakota. Lawrence Sack died about 12 years ago and the oldest daughter died in Poland just prior to the Sack family leaving Poland for this country, which was in 1890. They came direct to Howard county, settling on the Sack farm southwest this city. Lawrence Sack came to this country first. Joseph came here and they sent home such glowing reports of this land that the entire family, with the exception of the eldest daughter, who was married and had a large family, came here and ever since they have made this their home. Christian Sack died in 1914 after rearing his family and leaving them in comfortable circumstances. The two elder Sacks were highly respected and they had a large number of friends and acquaintances over the county. They will regret to learn of this good woman's death, although she is entitled to her reward as she has preformed her work in good shape. The Sack family moved to this city in 1910, and they have a very comfortable and beautiful home in the south part of this city. The funeral was held from the Catholic church yesterday morning, the pastor, Rev. Father Jarzemski, assisted by Father Augustyn of Elba, Father Jarka, of Loup City and Father Kaufman, of St. Libory, having charge of the services. Solemn high mass was celebrated after which the remain were conveyed to the Catholic cemetery where they were laid to rest by the side of her life companion, with whom she lived for more than fifty years. The Phonograph desires to extend its few words of sympathy to the bereaved family in their hour of sorrow.
