Description	:	Marylin V. Broekemeier, 80, of Kearney, died Sunday, March 12, 2017 at Good Samaritan Society, St. Luke’s in Kearney. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, March 16, 2017, at Gibbon Faith United Methodist Church with Rev. Michael Evans officiating. Burial will be at the Riverside Cemetery near Gibbon. Marylin was born December 23, 1936 in Peru, Nebraska to Archie and Opal (Adams) Keup. She graduated from Gibbon High School. Marylin married Harry Broekemeier on September 9, 1956 in Gibbon. As a stay at home mother to their three children, they lived in the Kearney and Shelton area until moving to Cozad in 1968. In 1988 they moved back to Gibbon, where Marylin worked at Nebraska Turkey Growers until retiring in 2002. Marylin then enjoyed volunteering her time at the Gibbon American Legion. She enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking and baking, listening to music and singing. Her lifelong enjoyment of singing, led her to sing at many weddings and funerals. Marylin was very devoted to her grandchildren. Marylin is survived by her daughters, Cindy Gutierrez and her husband Tony of Seneca, SC, Jody Lungrin and her husband Dan of Wallace, NE; grandchildren Maryann Roach and her husband Matt of Westminster, SC, Morgan Lungrin and Matthew Lungrin of Wallace, NE; great grandson Gunner Roach of Westminster, SC; sisters Judy Rose of Fort Wayne, IN, Nita Krueger of Kearney, Suzanne Hawke and her husband Dan of Broken Bow, NE, Kathleen Stander and her husband Roger of Shelton, NE; brother Alan Keup and his wife Nancy of Kearney. Marylin was preceded in death by her husband Harry, son Randy Broekemeier; granddaughter Taylor Nicole Lungrin; sisters, Linda Spellman, and Gail Keup; brothers, Rodney and Eldon Keup; brothers-in-law Henry Rose and Dale Krueger.
