Description	:	GIBBON — Rodney G. Keup, 82, of Gibbon died Saturday, Dec. 26, 2015, at his home. Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at O’Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral Home in Kearney with the Rev. John Gosswein officiating. Cremation was chosen. Mr. Keup was born on Feb. 26, 1933, in Peru to Archie and Opal (Adams) Keup. He graduated from Gibbon High School in 1951. Mr. Keup was born on Feb. 26, 1933, in Peru to Archie and Opal (Adams) Keup. He graduated from Gibbon High School in 1951. Following his graduation, Rodney was drafted into the U.S. Army in June 1953 until he was honorably discharged in May 1955. Rodney worked for Teleweld for several years, traveling all over the United States. He later worked in the maintenance department of Intermatic in Richmond, Ill. He moved back to Gibbon in 2001. Rodney was a member of Family of Christ Church and was a volunteer at the Gibbon American Legion Post 310. He enjoyed fishing and being in the outdoors. He also loved the relationships he made drinking coffee and visiting with family and friends. He is survived by his sons, Jeff Keup and wife Karen of Spring Grove, Ill., and Bryan Keup and wife Amy of Waukesha, Wis.; three grandchildren; five sisters, Marylin Broekemeier of Kearney, Judith Rose of St. Louis, Nita Krueger of Kearney, Suzanne Hawke and husband Dan of Broken Bow and Kathleen Stander and husband Roger; a brother, Alan Keup and wife Nancy of Kearney; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Eldon Keup; and two sisters, Linda Spellman and Gail Keup.
