Matilda married Edward McEvoy on October 13, 1933 in Sioux City, Iowa. They farmed in Logan, Iowa for almost 67 years. They were blessed with five daughters and three sons. Edward preceded her in death in June of 2000. Matilda was a member of the St. Anne's Catholic Church in Logan, Iowa. Mathilda Barbara McEvoy, age 102, of Logan, Iowa, passed away on Friday, November 27, 2015 at Westmont Nursing Home in Logan, Iowa. Matilda had lived at Westmont for three years and eight months. Matilda was preceded in death by her husband Edward McEvoy, sons-in-law Lowell Armstrong, Robert Mothershead, Dwane Dahl and Jan (Bo) Bradfield, grandson Richard Lovell and great-grandson James Staregowski, four sisters, and two brothers. Left to cherish her memory are her children and spouses, seventeen grandchildren, step-grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren, and fifteen great-great grandchildren. A Rosary will be held at 6pm on Tuesday with visitation to follow until 8 pm at the Logan Memorial Chapel in Logan, Iowa.
