Description	:	Matilda Caroline Davis Weston, daughter of William Davis and Mary Gillespie, was born May 27, 1850 in Irwin, Pennsylvania and died May 24, 1930 in Noble, Iowa. She was married in her parents, William and Mary Davis, home on September 12, 1867 in Venango County, Pennsylvania by Elder Joseph Grimm. She was one of seven children that lived and farmed in the Irwin, Pennsylvania area. They moved to Council Bluffs, Iowa in January 1869. She was married in her parents, William and Mary Davis, home on September 12, 1867 in Venango County, Pennsylvania by Elder Joseph Grimm. She was one of seven children that lived and farmed in the Irwin, Pennsylvania area. They moved to Council Bluffs, Iowa in January 1869. After a year’s residence in that city, he came to Cass County, Iowa, where he lived almost continuously up to the time of his death. They four adopted children, who made their home with them from childhood. The children are Will A. Weston, Grant; D. R. Miller of Noonan, North Dakota; John and Margaret. NOTE: She is buried in the Milford Cemetery in Grant, Montgomery Co. Iowa. She is located in Lot 6. next to her husband John. She was married in her parents, William and Mary Davis, home on Sept. 12, 1867 in Venango Co. PA. by Elder Joseph Grimm. She was one of seven children that lived and farmed in the Irwin, Pennsylvania area. Will dated 26 Nov 1929; After reading Matilda's will, it seems she held some bitterness towards William. In her will she divided her estate up equally among her heirs except William, who she only gave one hundred dollars. William later contested the Will and received an additional $250.00.
