Matt was born on June 22, 1954 in Omaha, NE. and adopted by Joseph and Doris Stoll from Fremont, Nebraska, when he was just 3 ½ years old. He graduated from Fremont High School and attended the University of Nebraska from 1973-1977. His oldest daughter, Melissa, was born in 1973 followed by his youngest daughter, Emily, in 1977. One of Matt's most cherished relationships was with his sister Ann Marie Potter-Manion with whom he reunited in 1984 after they were separated from an early age. He didn't know he had a sister until she found him in 1984. Matt's impressive professional career in the trucking and transportation business spanned his entire lifetime. He was a well-respected leader in the industry and his work in operations brought him much pride and joy. The bulk of his career was spent in Pennsylvania where he lived for 26 years. Matt was the President/CEO of Shaffer Trucking Inc. from 1999-2004, President/CEO of USF Glen Moore from 2004-2006, and Sr. Vice President of Carlisle Venture from 2006-2012. From 2012-2015, he was VP of Carlisle Logistics Services. In 2017, he founded his own company, MJS Enterprises. After retirement, Matt moved back to Omaha where he met and married his best friend and love of his life, Angela Stoll, on April 4, 2019. They traveled to Hawaii, the Dominican Republic, and the East Coast, spending as much time together as they could. During his retirement, Matt pursued his passion for fine cuisine and attended cooking school. He loved to cook, travel, laugh, watch movies, cheer on the Nebraska Cornhuskers, and take care of his and Angela's dogs. Ruby, Shelby, and Katie will forever be "his dogs." He was loved by everyone who knew him and will be missed by those who didn't know him very well. Matt is survived by wife, Angela; daughters, Melissa and Emily; sister, Ann; and mother, Doris. The family will receive friends Saturday, June 26th from 10am to 11am at St. Stephen the Martyr Catholic Church, 16701 'S' Street, followed by MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL at 11am. Memorials are suggested to Catholic Charities, 3300 N. 60th Street, Omaha, NE. 68104.
