Description	:	THE GREENVILLE NEWS - May 18, 1932 Funeral services for Mrs. Mattie Jane Thomason, 67, who died Monday night at the home of her sister, Mrs. J.R. Thomason, near Standing Springs church in the Simpsonville community, will be held this morning at 11 o'clock from the Hopewell Methodist Church. The Rev. L.W. Shealey will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Mr. Mitchell, and interment will be made in the church cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Alton Chandler, Fred Melton, John H. Bunch, Frank Leake, G.W. Chandler and A.D. Stenhouse. Mrs. Thomason was the widow of the late J.A. Thomason, who died a number of years ago, and was a lifelong resident of that community. She had beeen a member of the Hopewell Methodist Church since girlhood. Surviving are six daughters: Mrs. O.E. Garrett, Mrs. J.L. Garrett, Mrs. Irb Land, Mrs. Tom Brashier and Mrs. J.E. Ballard, all of near Simpsonville; two sons, S.B. Thomason, Fountain Inn, Wade Thomason of near Simpsonville; one sister, Mrs. J.R. Thomason, near Simpsonville; and one brother, S.C. Cox, Fountain Inn. She also leaves 47 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. The body is at the residence pending the hour of the service. Contributed by Christin Craig
