Born on March 9, 1925 in Hicksville, Ohio, Maude was the daughter of the late Robert and Augusta (Cole) Cook. She was a 1943 graduate of Hicksville High School. On April 15, 1955, she was united in marriage to Eugene Straley and he preceded her in death on October 26, 2009. Maude worked along side of her husband as an independent business owner for Amway Global. Born on March 9, 1925 in Hicksville, Ohio, Maude was the daughter of the late Robert and Augusta (Cole) Cook. She was a 1943 graduate of Hicksville High School. On April 15, 1955, she was united in marriage to Eugene Straley and he preceded her in death on October 26, 2009. Maude worked along side of her husband as an independent business owner for Amway Global. Maude was a member of Grace United Methodist Church where she also helped with Rotary lunches and funeral dinners.. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and VFW Auxiliary. Maude was an avid reader. Surviving Maude is a son- Darran (Amy) of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; a daughter- Karen (Dwight) Isabelle of Arlington, Texas; eight grandchildren- Jason, James, Carley, Brayton, Michael, Megan, Emily and Rachel; two sisters- Alice White and Betty Snyder. She was preceded in death by a grandson-Darran II; brothers- Gerald, Bob, George and Carl. Funeral services for Maude will be Saturday at 11:00 a.m. with visitation one hour prior to the service at Smith & Brown Funeral Home, Hicksville. Visitation will also be Friday from 3:00-6:00 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery, Hicksville. Memorials may be made to Hickory Creek at Hicksville.
