Description	:	Maude Akers WILLIS, Va. - Maude Moore Akers, 96, passed away Thursday, May 27, 1999. She was born September 9, 1902, to the late John and Weeda Young Moore. She was married to Rev. Waddie Akers on March 30, 1923, who preceded her in death November 12, 1991. She was a member of White Rock Church of The Brethren. She lived most of her life in Willis, until moving to Danville, Virginia, with her son in 1989, where she lived until having to be admitted to Skyline Manor Nursing Home in Floyd in August 1998. Waddie Akers on March 30, 1923, who preceded her in death November 12, 1991. She was a member of White Rock Church of The Brethren. She lived most of her life in Willis, until moving to Danville, Virginia, with her son in 1989, where she lived until having to be admitted to Skyline Manor Nursing Home in Floyd in August 1998. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Hobert Moore and Charlie Moore and a sister Ella Moore Harris. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Mildred and Marion Roberts of Salem; one son and daughter-in-law, Eskrine D. (Whitey) and Sally Akers of Danville; one sister Myrtle Hollandsworth of Skyline Manor Nursing Home; four grandchildren, Marion L. Roberts Jr., Robert L. Canada, Sundi Moody and Staci Purnell; and six great grandchildren. A funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Maberry Funeral Home Chapel, Floyd, with the Rev. Kenny Wurzburger and the Rev. Roy Turpin officiating. Burial will be in Jacksonville Cemetery, in Floyd. The family will receive friends 7-8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
