Description	:	Maudie Lee "Brown" Spurgeon was born September 2, 1922 at Bismarck, MO the daughter of Henry Vaugh and Mary Francis Vaugh. She passed away February 11, 2011 at Mountain View Healthcare in Mountain View, MO at the age of 88 years. She was united in marriage to O.H. (Buck) Brawley in 1939, and to this union three children were born: Dean, Dwain and Bill. She later married Floyd Lee Brown in 1967, and after his passing she married Robert A. Spurgeon in 1984. Maudie is preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Mary Vaugh; two husbands, O.H. "Buck" Brawley and Floyd Brown; two sons, Dwain Brawley and Dean Brawley; one brother, Gale Vaugh; and four sisters: Grace Sawyer, Daisy Craig, Velma Haynes and Mary Sallee. She is survived by her son, Bill Brawley and wife, Jenny, of Winona, MO; one daughter in law, Judy Brawley of Winona, MO; one brother in law, Ray Haynes; five grandchildren: Ronnie Neal, Cathy Honeycutt, Angie Underwood, Wendy Thomason, all of Winona, MO and Jody Thomason of Springfield, MO; 15 great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends. Maudie worked at Paramount Cap factory until her retirement in 1984. She enjoyed quilting, fishing, doing jigsaw puzzles and cooking. Most of all, Maudie loved spending time with her family and friends. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at the Duncan Funeral Chapel in Winona, MO with Jody Thomason officiating. Interment was in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Winona, MO under the direction of Duncan Funeral Homes. Summersville Beacon Feb. 23, 2011
