Carmel Medical Center. He had been in ill health for the past month. He was born Nov. 26, 1915, at Cherokee, to David and Ida Imhof McClenahan. He attended school at Cherokee and graduated from Cherokee High School. He attended Fort Scott Community College for one year. Mr. McClenahan was a World War II veteran. He served in the U.S. Army. On July 3, 1935, he married Helen Mason at Columbus. She preceded him in death May 30, 1996. Mr. McClenahan owned and operated Sinclair Service at Sixth and Locust streets for many years. He worked at Hull-Dillon and Beck and Hill Meat Market before retiring in 1980. He was a member of First baptist Church, Cherokee Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite Consistory of Fort Scott, Mirza Shrine Temple, White Shrine and Benjamin A. Fuller Post No. 64 of the American Legion. Survivors include a son, David McClenahan of Plainfield, Ill.; a daughter, Janice Adamson of Cameron, Mo.; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, James, and an infant brother. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Edd Matako officiating. Burial will be in Cherokee Cemetery with graveside Masonic services conducted by Cherokee Masonic Lodge. Friends may call from noon to 5 p.m. today at Brenner Mortuary, 114 E. Fourth St., Pittsburg. The family also will receive friends from 9:30 until service time Monday at the First Baptist Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Brenner Mortuary.
