Public funeral services will be held on Friday, December 18, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Schaller. Burial will be in the Odebolt Cemetery in Odebolt. The Fratzke & Jensen Funeral Home in Schaller is in charge of the arrangements. Maurice Don Siebrecht, the son of Maurice and Gesine (Bruns) Siebrecht, was born on July 15, 1941 in Ida Grove, Iowa. As an infant, Don was baptized at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Schaller, Iowa. He later confirmed his Christian faith in 1955 at the same church. Growing up, Don attended grade school and high school in the Odebolt area. He graduated from Odebolt High School and then enlisted in the United States National Guard. On April 2, 1966, Don was united in marriage to Connie Bieschke at the Odebolt Methodist Church. The couple was blessed with two children, Paula and Aaron. Don was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church in Arthur and St. Paul Lutheran Church in Schaller. He was active in the church through serving as a Trustee and helping with numerous church events. Don was a farmer for most of his life, he enjoyed taking care of the land and spending time outdoors. He loved to farm as well as take care of livestock, custom corn shelling, and baling. Along with farming, Don was a family man and never missed an opportunity to get out of the house to spend time with his family. He liked to travel to the grandkids’ activities, spend time with Connie whether it was dancing or going out to eat, put up Christmas lights, and more. Some of Don’s other hobbies included going to auctions, taking vacations, meeting for coffee and conservation. Don was a man who adored his family and loved to be involved in his community. He will be forever remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather who always had a special smile on his face. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Connie Siebrecht of Arthur, Iowa; children, Paula Westphal of Battle Creek, Iowa and Aaron (Lori) Siebrecht of Arthur, Iowa; brother, Myron (Bonnie) Siebrecht of Sioux Center, Iowa; sister, Mary Siebrecht of Odebolt, Iowa; grandchildren: Quinn (Aubrey) Westphal of Olathe, Kansas; Haley (fiancé, Dustin Schmidt) Westphal of Holstein, Iowa; Erika Swanger of Battle Creek, Iowa; Jake Siebrecht of Arthur, Iowa; Alex Siebrecht of Arthur, Iowa; extended family and friends. Don was preceded in death by his parents, Maurice and Gesine Siebrecht; granddaughter, Hannah Westphal; and grandson, Brett Westphal.
