Read More	Daytona Beach FLORIDA - Maurice Dupuis, 87, formerly of 122 High St., died Monday, July 20, 2009, at the Halifax Medical Center, Daytona Beach, after a period of declining health. Maurice was born on August 26, 1921, in Groveton, N.H., and was the son of Ovila and Vivian (Connely) Dupuis. He was raised in Groveton and was a graduate of Groveton High School. He went on to further his education in culinary arts, graduating from the Culinary Arts Institute of Hartford, CT. On July 5, 1942 in Groveton, NH he married Jane Etta Stone, daughter of Everett Elton Stone and Edith (Marion) Hotham. Maurice was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Army. He received the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star for his action in the Sicily campaign. He was discharged from the service as a staff sergeant after 3-plus years of service. Maurice returned to Groveton where he operated the Townhouse Restaurant. He also owned and operated the Wentworth Hotel in Woodsville and was in the hotel/restaurant business for over 30 years. Mr. Dupuis moved to Somersworth in 1984 and traveled with his wife to Florida for many vacations. He moved to Florida to be with his daughter in 2004. Maurice was a member of the VFW of Somersworth and was a communicant of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Most of all, family was important to him and he enjoyed his times with his children. Family members include his son, Doug Dupuis and his wife, Joan, both of Rochester; his daughter, Mrs. Michael (Edith) McLaughlin of Ormond Beach; a brother, Robert Dupuis of Whitefield, N.H. Other family members include his 11 grandchildren and great-grandchildren; several nephews and nieces. A sister, Lucielle Savage in 1994, predeceased Maurice. His two sons predeceased him, Randal Dupuis in 1984 and Stephen Dupuis in 2004. His wife, Jane (Stone) Dupuis, predeceased him in 2001. Maurice was buried with military honors in Holy Rosary Cemetery, Rochester, N.H. Foster's Daily Democrat 7/23/2009
