Description	:	Maurice Walter “Sonny” Johnson died Saturday, August 1, 2015 at Diversicare of Council Grove, KS, after a long battle with cancer. He was born May 19, 1933 to Paul and Lois (Hylton) Johnson at their home in rural Dunlap, KS. He attended grade school at Big John. He farmed with is dad until going out on his own. Over the years he was a partner in a gas station, a transport truck driver, and then a farmer/stockman until retirement. Read More	Maurice Walter “Sonny” Johnson died Saturday, August 1, 2015 at Diversicare of Council Grove, KS, after a long battle with cancer. He was born May 19, 1933 to Paul and Lois (Hylton) Johnson at their home in rural Dunlap, KS. He attended grade school at Big John. He farmed with is dad until going out on his own. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Margaret, granddaughter Stacy Kylee Johnson, step grandson Joshua Matthews, step great granddaughter Taylor Blount. He is survived by his wife, Pat, of the home; sons, Bruce Johnson and wife, Renee of Red Cloud, Nebraska; Michael Rex Johnson and wife, Regina, of Council Grove; step children, Calvin Blount and wife, Pat; Bruce Blount and wife, Denise; Shari Matthews and husband, Danny; Brenda Blim and husband, Jeff; all of Council Grove; grandchildren, Brandi Ganatra and husband, Kalpesh; Kelcy Bremer and husband, Shad; Bryce Johnson and wife, Kaitlin; Lance Johnson and wife, Jamie; step grandchildren, Tim Blount and wife, Tanya; Kimberly Watson and husband, Jeremy; Derrick Matthews, Matt Blim, Hannah Brown and husband, Justin; great grandchildren, Lindsey White, Grace Ganatra, Carter and Colbie Bremer Jameson Johnson; step great grandchildren, Tori, TyAnn and Treyton Blount; Kayla, Kristen, and Jeremiah Watson; sisters, Alberta Horton of Council Grove and Norma Jean Worley of Emporia.
