Description	:	Maurine L. Forest, 95, passed away on Monday, April 2, 2018, at the Hiawatha Care Center in Hiawatha. Visitation will be 9:30 to 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 7, at United Church of Christ in Tipton. Memorials may be directed to the United Church of Christ in Tipton, in her memory. A memorial service will follow the visitation at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 7, at the United Church of Christ in Tipton. Burial will be at the Masonic Cemetery, Tipton, Iowa. Maurine Laverie Struve was born January 26, 1923, in Clinton, the daughter of Hans and Elizabeth (Nielsen) Struve. She graduated from Lyons High School in Clinton and attended the University of Iowa for two years. She married Dwain Elmer Forest in 1943, in Clinton. They moved to Chicago, Illinois, where Dwain attended optometric school at the Illinois College of Optometry. After his graduation in 1948, they moved to Tipton, where Dr. Dwain Forest established his optometric practice. She was employed as the church secretary at the United Church of Christ for many years. She later worked at the Court House as a secretary in the Cedar County Public Health department, retiring in 1987. Dwain passed away on December 21, 1968. She remained in Tipton until 2016, when she moved to Summit Pointe Assisted Living in Marion. She enjoyed golf, bridge, traveling, and reading, but her greatest love was her family. She was a member of the United Church of Christ for nearly 65 years, where she participated in choir and Women's Fellowship. She was also a member of the Tipton Country Club and TTT. She is survived by three sons, Jon (Marsha) Forest of Vero Beach, FL, Greg (Kay) of Forest of Marion, and Mark Forest of North Liberty; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and two sisters, Jean Willis and Joan Harris. The family would like to thank Dr. Nelson and all the staff at Hiawatha Care Center for their loving care given to Maurine during her stay. Fry Funeral Home
