Description	:	Wulf, Mavis E. Mavis E. Wulf, 94, of Lincoln, NE, passed away at her daughter's home in Elmira, NY on February 26, 2014 peacefully in her sleep. Mavis was born May 26, 1919 in Lincoln. She graduated from Crete High School and attended Saint Elizabeth Nursing School in Lincoln. Mavis was married to Harold A. Wulf on January 10, 1942; they were married 68 years. Wulf, 94, of Lincoln, NE, passed away at her daughter's home in Elmira, NY on February 26, 2014 peacefully in her sleep. Mavis was born May 26, 1919 in Lincoln. She graduated from Crete High School and attended Saint Elizabeth Nursing School in Lincoln. Mavis was married to Harold A. Wulf on January 10, 1942; they were married 68 years. Mavis worked as a quality control laboratory technician at Norden Laboratories in Lincoln for more than a decade. She enjoyed reading, gardening, sewing, cooking and baking, travel, dancing, water skiing, sailing and volunteering; but most of all, she enjoyed being a wife, mother and grandmother. She treasured her time with her wonderful friends at a weekly breakfast group that she and Harold attended. Mavis was a PTA President, Girl Scout Leader, Hospice Volunteer, member of the sewing guild, and she helped plant trees at Fort Robinson State Park. She always kept an open door for friends and family. Mavis had a quick wit, told great stories, had an extraordinary memory, was very wise, and always willing to lend a hand with love in her heart. Mavis is survived by daughters, Nancy Thege, Caledonia, MI; Susan (Don) Dolan, Raytown, MO; Joyce (Mike) Steele, Elmira, NY; son, Mark, residing in Elmira, NY; sister, Virginia (Don) DeFreese, St. Charles, MO; grandchildren, Bradley (Emily) Sampson, Gregory (Cathi) Sampson, Hilary (Andrew) Byma, Zachary Thege, Jefry (Wendy) Wulf, Justin (Rhonda) Hastings; and 14 great grandchildren. Mavis is preceded in death by her parents, Lottie and Ludmil Petracek; husband, Harold A. Wulf; brothers, Milo Petracek and Robert Petracek; and son-in-law, Clifton Thege. A Celebration of Life and inurnment will be held later this year in Lincoln, NE Published in Star-Gazette on Mar. 4, 2014
