Mavis was born Jan 21, 1927, in the Devils Nest area to Thomas and Elizabeth Bryce. She attended Wayne State College and taught school for a few years. She married Roland Allen and moved to Fort Worth, Texas, he was later killed in a construction accident. She returned to Nebraska with two young sons. She was briefly married to Art Baldwin and had one son, Don. Mavis married Herb Blair and they resided on the family farm near Creighton. She loved her family, church, gardening, and wildlife. She is survived by her huspand of 42 years, Herb Blair of rural Creighton; sons Rex Allen of Townsville, S.C., Terry and wife Jean Allen of Stanton and Don and Lois Baldwin of Lincoln; stepchildren Lidie Snyder, Mark Blair and Melanie Crawford, all of Florida; grandchildren Sherman Sikich, Amber, Elizabeth and Cheyenne Allen, and Austin and Daniel Baldwin; great-grandchildren Caleb Schouble?? and Ivy Sikich,sister Mary Sukup, Esther Mickelson and Etta Allen. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Roland Allen, and siblings Jim Bruyce and Evelyn Forseli.
