Description	:	Max C. Pierce (April 1, 1923 - February 15, 2016) Max Curtis Pierce passed away on February 15, 2016 of natural causes at the age of 92. Born April 1, 1923 to Homer and Mary Kate Pierce in their home on the farm near Amber, Washington. The family later moved to Cheney, where he graduated from high school in 1941. He was a respected athlete and excelled in track and field. He worked a short time at the Cheney Weeder Company and attended EWCE (EWU). Born April 1, 1923 to Homer and Mary Kate Pierce in their home on the farm near Amber, Washington. The family later moved to Cheney, where he graduated from high school in 1941. He was a respected athlete and excelled in track and field. He worked a short time at the Cheney Weeder Company and attended EWCE (EWU). During WWll he was employed at Fairchild AFB where he repaired and maintained military aircraft. After the war, he became a Journeyman Electrician at EWCE, where he worked until his retirement in 1976. In 1967 he married Vinnie Baump-Jacobson and they were married 47 years. Max, being born on April Fool’s Day, kept the tradition alive all year round with his great sense of humor and practical jokes. He also retained a never ending supply of personally created “Maxisms” that kept family and friends entertained. He was a Jack of all trades and a master of many. He could repair most anything. Max was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved the great outdoors. He and Vinnie spent many summers fishing and camping at Williams Lake with family and friends. In retirement they were snowbirds and traveled many times to California, Arizona and Mexico. He also enjoyed salmon fishing trips with his sons to Westport, WA, Canada and Alaska. The evening’s campfire will burn dimmer without his presence. He lived a very long and full life, filled with wonderful memories. Max is survived by Vinnie his wife, his sons Don, Glen (Cheryl), David (Carla) and stepson Harvey Jacobson (Sheila), his grandchildren Don Jr, Don, Jeremy, Cal, Kyra, Davy, Tara, August and 8 great grandchildren.
