Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 14, 2015 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Stanwood, with Pastor Jan Horne officiating. Burial will be in the Stanwood Cemetery, Stanwood, Iowa. Max Edwin Taylor was born December 22, 1922, in Plato, Iowa, to Charles Ivan and Minnie (Parsons) Taylor. He married Lorraine Lehrman on June 16, 1946, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Stanwood. Max was a great dad and loving husband. He had a passion for livestock farming and enjoyed playing piano in hospitals and nursing homes, as well as St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Max had a great work ethic and his favorite quote was, "I didn't waste my time". He is survived by his wife, Lorraine of Muscatine; two sons, Dennis (Cindy) Taylor of Muscatine and Gary (LeAnn) Taylor of Greensboro, NC; seven grandchildren, Sara (George) Demos, Matt (Becky) Taylor, Luke Taylor, Aubrey Taylor, Kaylyn Taylor, and Mitchell and Jake Braden; two great-grandchildren, Landon and Ian Taylor; and one sister, Doris (Norman) Weist of Rochester, MN.
