He was born on April 13,1914, at Decatur and was married to Rachel Miller Oct 1,1938, at Fremont. The couple lived on a farm near Lyons prior to moving to Decatur in 1946. Survivors include his wife, Rachel Sears of Decatur; two daughters: Sally Santos of Gilroy, California and Trudi Fahrenholz of Lincoln; three sons: Rex and Tony Sears of Decatur and Danny Sears of Blair; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren and one sister, Marybelle Connealy of Decatur. Funeral Services were held Feb 21, 1987, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Decatur. Interment was in the Hillcrest Cemetery at Decatur.
