Officiating at the funeral was Pastor Larry Woodcock. Organist was Mildred Johnson Ferne and Cindy Kempcke sang. Casket bearers were Rex and Tony Sears, Larry, Ivan, Sean, Max, Tim and Del Connealy. Honorary bearers were Dan Sears and Keith Connealy. Interment was in the Lyons Cemetery with Piper Funeral Home of Lyons in charge of arrangements. Josie Roscoe was born May 6, 1896 to Mary Ernst Bucy and Samuel C. Bucy on a farm south of Decatur. She was married to Hurley [sic] Sears. One son, Max, was born to this union. After the death of Mr. Sears, she was united in marriage to Irving Roscoe of Lyons in January, 1918. A daughter, Marybelle, was born to them. Mrs. Roscoe resided near Lyons all of her married life. She love the outdoors and all of the animals that lived there. In May of 1983, she became a resident at the Logan Valley Manor of Lyons. She passed away at the Oakland Memorial Hospital on March 26, 1986 after a few days illness. She would have celebrated her 90th birthday on May 6. Survivors include her son Max and her daughter Marybelle Connealy, both of Decatur, 12 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. -The Lyons Mirror-Sun, 03 Apr 1986
