Description	:	Max L. Custer, 80, Greentown passed away at his home at 8:40 a.m. on Monday, November 12, 2018. He was born June 7, 1938 to Jesse and Dorothy (Finch) Custer in Kokomo. Max graduated from Eastern High School in 1956. He married Myra Sue (Hensler) on February 14, 1960 in Greentown and they were married for 56 years before her passing on January 31, 2017. Max had worked at Production Credit Association, Schwartout and Gro-Mor Fertilizer. He was Senior Vice President, Director of Trust Services at First Farmers Bank & Trust for 25 years retiring in 2004. Read More	Max L. Max was member of Jerome Christian Church, the Greentown Lions Club, Howard County Board of Zoning Appeals and Greentown Town Council from 1976 until 1977. He was President of Wood’s Lake channel and had worked as an election board volunteer. Max enjoyed planting flowers, mowing, spending time at the lake with family and friends and also enjoyed going to Florida and Branson. He enjoyed listening to gospel music, going to Quartet Convention in Gatlinburg, Tennessee and watching the Pacers. Survivors include daughters, Marla (David) Dickerson, Carmel, and Mona Horner, Fishers; grandkids, Kayla Marko, S. Carolina, Keegan (Kristin) Horner, Noblesville, (Ty) and Kinsey (Horner) Hill, Wabash, Jared Dickerson, Ohio, and Rachel Dickerson, Carmel; companion, Ruthella Storer, Russiaville; brother, J. Arnold (Nancy) Custer, Greentown; sister-in-law, Carol Sue Hensler, Greentown; nieces and nephews, Ronda Smith, Marion, Andrea (David) Eikenberry, Greentown, Tonya (Joe) Wittig, Brownsburg, Jim (Lisa) Custer, Greentown, and Stacey Custer, Greentown. He was preceded in death by wife, Myra Sue Custer; parents, Jesse and Dorothy Custer; father and mother-in-law, Albert and Pearl Hensler; brother-in-law, Max Hensler; and nephew, Mark Custer. Visitation for family and friends will be will be Friday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Jerome Christian Church 9535 E. 100 S. Greentown. Funeral services will be Saturday at 11:00 a.m. with an hour of visitation before the service also at Jerome Christian Church 9535 E. 100 S. Greentown with Pastor David Stokes and Elder Dick Moser officiating. Burial will be in Mast Hensler Cemetery following the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Jerome Christian Church Building fund. Hasler & Stout Funeral Home 112 E. Main Street assisted the family with arrangements.
