He was born on May 8, 1933 in Randolph County, son of the late Lewis and Blanche Ward Farlow. A resident of this area all his life, he was a 1953 graduate of Randleman High School, where he was active with the FFA, and proudly served his country in the US Army. Along with his brothers, he owned and operated Farlow Brothers Dairy Farm for 42 years and was a longtime active member of Marlboro Friends Meeting, as long as his health permitted. Max enjoyed fishing, gardening and woodworking; especially making birdfeeders to donate to the Cancer Society for their auction in honor of his late wife, Cecile Pickard Farlow, or making Noah’s Ark replicas and pull toys to give away to family and friends. His true love and passion was spending time with his family. He was a loving father, papaw, brother, uncle and friend and will be dearly missed. In addition to his parents and his wife, preceding him in death were 3 brothers, Dennis, Ray and Noel Farlow and 3 sisters, Bernice Lemmons, Clara McPherson and Mary Wicker. He leaves to cherish his memories; his sons, Kevin Farlow and his wife, JoAnne, and Patrick Farlow and his spouse, Stan Reid; his sister, Phyllis Bell; his brother, Lewis Farlow and his wife Brenda, and his granddaughter, Sophie Farlow. A private family service will be held. A public celebration of Max’s life will be held at a later date and will be announced. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Max’s memory may be directed to the FFA Alumni of Randleman High School, 4396 Tigers Den Road, Randleman, NC 27317
