He grew up in Redwood Falls and attended school there. He move to Sioux Falls in 1936. He married Mayona Bossman on Aug. 8, 1937, in Sioux Falls, and the lived in Madison for one year before returning to Sioux Falls. He worked for Girton-Adams Ice Co., and then at the Sioux Falls Air Base as a refrigeration engineer. After World War II, he went ot work for Prather Pontiac-Cadillac as a salesman. ... He sold cars for 25 years through the dealership of Prather-McKeon Motors and later Kindler Pontiac-Cadillac. In 1969, he helped establish Great Bear Ski Valley. He was also a deputy and manager for the Independent Order of Foresters insurance office in Sioux Falls. He retired in 1980. Survivors include his wife, Mayona, Sioux Falls; a daughter, Mrs. Del (Marlys) Kroon, Sioux Falls; three grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; a sister, Mrs. Harvey (Maxine) Schroeder, Redwood Falls, MN.; and his stepmother, Mrs. Madge Day, Redwood Falls.
