She had two siblings, Kenneth Kirchoff born in 1924 and Frances Kirchoff born in 1927. Maxine graduated from the Cherokee High School in 1941. She was a member of the... Read More	Maxine Agnes Kirchoff was born Feb. 5, 1923, in Cleghorn, the daughter of Louis and Elsie Weber Kirchoff. She had two siblings, Kenneth Kirchoff born in 1924 and Frances Kirchoff born in 1927. Maxine graduated from the Cherokee High School in 1941. On Feb. 10, 1947, she married Loren Emerson McCannon at the Holy Name Catholic Church at Marcus. Maxine worked as a secretary at Mental Health, as a legal secretary for Archie and Joe Nelson, as a waitress for Elsie Nelson at Elsie's Cafe and as a secretary for Timmins Real Estate at Cherokee. She was a member of the Aurelia First United Methodist Church, the Siouxland Council on Aging, American Legion Auxiliary serving as secretary and treasurer, Pythian Sisters, V.F.W. Auxiliary and a delegate for the Democratic Party. Maxine also wrote poems and enjoyed reading and playing golf. Survivors include: her husband, Loren, of Aurelia; two sons, Glen and his wife, Susan, of Aurelia; and Jim and his wife, Deb, of LeMars; three daughters, Diane, and her husband, Fred Jensen, of Cherokee; Barbara and her husband, Karl Gilbertson, of Cedar Falls; and Gayle Clinton of Topeka, Kan.; ten grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren; one sister, Fran, and her husband, Carl Reinert of Alton; and two aunts, Alvina Johnston of Aurelia; and Valeska Humma, of Mesa,' Ariz. • Maxine was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, Kenneth Kirchoff, and his wife Bonnie.
