Description	:	Maxine Dorothy Harris was born the forth on seven children on the family farm in Crowfoot Township, Mountrail County, North Dakota. She was born on January 25, 1927 on a cold snowy day to Walter & Lillie (Vadnais) Harris. The family lived here and she began her education in the country school. Later she attended school in Kenmare where she graduated with the class of 1944. Her first job after High School was working as a bookkeeper for the Kenmare, Creamery. She married later that year to Morris Melby and they were blessed with three children, Kay, Jill and Kalmer.... Later she attended school in Kenmare where she graduated with the class of 1944. Her first job after High School was working as a bookkeeper for the Kenmare, Creamery. She married later that year to Morris Melby and they were blessed with three children, Kay, Jill and Kalmer. Her marriage to Morris ended in divorce and she married Herbert Nickolas McNeal on October 2, 1952 at Minot and Herb became father to the children. They lived west of Kenmare where Herb farmed in Elmdale Township. They lived in Kenmare. Later Herb took a job with M.D.U. as a meter reader.Maxine worked at the Ringen Hardware Store in Kenmare many years and then worked for John Odland as the office manager for the Peterson Chevrolet (Kenmare) until her retirement. Herb and Maxine moved to Fargo where Herb died on March 16, 1997. Maxine continued to make her home there until her death on March 9, 2017. Funeral services were held in the Nazareth Lutheran Church in Kenmare on April 8, 2017. Interment was in the Saint Agnes Catholic Cemetery beside her husband.
