Description	:	Maxine McAsey, 84 Abilene, formerly of Atchison and Effingham, died Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2006, at Alterra Sterling House, Abilene. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church, Abilene, with the Rev. Henry Baxa officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. A parish rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Friday at Danner Funeral Home, Abilene. Memorials are suggested to the Alterra Sterling House No. 1, and may be sent in care of the funeral home. She graduated from Atchison High School and Crum’s Beauty Academy in Manhattan. Mrs. McAsey was a member of St. Andrew’s Catholic Church. She married Norman McAsey in 1943. He died Jan. 17, 1972. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Leroy Hood. Survivors include five sons, Jack McAsey, Bridgeport, Texas, Dean McAsey, Bloomington, Ind., Mark McAsey, Henderson, Nev., Greg McAsey, Galva, and Mike McAsey, Abilene; a sister, Ruby Hinz; 14 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
