Description	:	Maxine Geneva Kiser Layton Harper, 94, recently of Hendersonville, N.C., formerly of Attica, died at 1:05 a.m. Wednesday, March 30, 2011, in Elizabeth House in Flat Rock, N.C. Born in Johnsonville on Aug. 28, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Elcie and Stella Moody Kiser. She lived most of her life in the Marshfield area of Warren County before moving to Attica in 1965. She had attended Marshfield School. Her marriage to John Layton was on March 5, 1932 in Marshfield. Born in Johnsonville on Aug. 28, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Elcie and Stella Moody Kiser. She lived most of her life in the Marshfield area of Warren County before moving to Attica in 1965. She had attended Marshfield School. Her marriage to John Layton was on March 5, 1932 in Marshfield. He died in November 1960. Mrs. Harper formerly worked at Radio Material Corp. in Attica and was a homemaker. She was a member of Attica Christian Church and Ladies of the Moose, Academy of Friendship and Upper Level Senior Citizens. Surviving is a son, Max (wife: Charlotte) Layton (wife: Charlotte) of Hendersonville. Also surviving are a daughter-in-law, Karen Layton, Greenwood; 5 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by a son, Bill Layton, a sister, Mary Jordan, and a brother, Paul Kiser. A graveside service and burial will be held at West Lebanon Cemetery, on Monday, April 4, at 2 p.m. with Pastor Bob Elness officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Attica Christian Church or the Senior Citizens Center.
