Maxine Helen Markle was born on May 11, 1921 the ninth child of eleven born to Charles and Maude (Stukey) Markle in Hudson, South Dakota. As an infant, her family made their home on a farm near Canton, SD. It was in Canton where Max was raised and received her education. Max worked at Diekman Chiropractic Clinic in Canton before spending eleven years working for John Morrell and Company in Sioux Falls. Max was united in marriage with Sheldon Bresee on August 24, 1945 at First Congregational Church in Sioux Falls, SD. Max and Shelly made their home in Sioux Falls and were blessed with four children: Brad, Holly, Wendy and Angie. Max was a member of East Side Lutheran Church, serving as a Sunday School Teacher, working with Mission Quilters and Senior Fellowship Breakfast. She was also a member of the Women of The Moose Lodge. Max loved music, concerts, dancing, bowling, roller skating and gardening. Above all she loved spending time with her family and friends. She looked forward to the yearly Markle family reunions. Grateful for having shared her life are her children: Brad Bresee, Holly Bresee of Sioux Falls, SD, Wendy Underwood of Rapid City, SD and Angie (Rob) Kraft of Sioux Falls, SD; six grandchildren: Blaine Bresee, Chad Bresee, Adam Underwood, Aaron (Jamie) Underwood, Ashley Hansen and Ivy Kraft; five great-grandchildren: Kelsey, Drake, Soyir, Ava and Isabel; one sister, Betty (Howard) Severson, Sioux Falls, SD; sister-in-law, Arlene Markle, Canton, SD; and a host of other relatives and friends. Max is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Maude Markle; husband Shelly Bresee on March 3, 1998; son-in-law, Alan Trowbridge; siblings, Gertrude McFarlane, Guy Markle, Mable Eidshiem, Dorothy Eliason, Cecil Markle, Hazel Aashiem, Lura Jones, Donald Markle and Lucille Eliason. - George Boom Funeral Home
